Welcome to my new home in NY!

My new home sweet home is made out of boxes and is moving from Union Square to Brooklyn and Cadman plaza and I will finally settle down on the 18th of June....If only it was true!!!! Unfortuntely we are not talking about my new home but about the new campaign that IKEA has imagined for the opening of its first ever store in NY baby!!

To start with...Boxes like this one started popping up on Monday in NY...

Then a massive marketing blitz was developed by the brand to create excitement for the opening of its new store. Imagine twenty-foot pop up IKEA room scattered throughout the city for two weeks! These temporary "home sweet homes" are set up at "iconic sites" like Union Square (June 12th), Borough Hall plaza (June 9th), Brooklyn Public Library (June 13th) and Cadman Plaza (June 15th).

What else?...The famous swedish furniture shop IKEA store is also getting architect John Hobbs to build huge sculptures of local landmarks like the Empire State building and the Brooklyn Bridge out of Ikea cardboard boxes; they will be unveiled outside of the store on Beard Street on opening day (June the 18th at 9am in Red Hook)
